Shreddybed's Partner Scoops Multiple Awards
Bodmin based Shreddybed are pleased to announce that their partner D H Smith Packaging has won a number of awards at the recent UK Packaging Awards. Amongst others, D H Smith took home the Packaging Company of the Year award and was also named Environmental Company of the Year.
The Launceston based company, who supplies packaging for large companies such as Amazon, boasts a number of environmental measures including pollution control and waste and recycling methods, including their regular supply of cardboard to locally based animal bedding company Shreddybed.
The cardboard off cuts produced as a waste product by D H Smith is ideal for Shreddybed which requires clean waste cardboard without staples or tape, to shred into a high quality animal bedding company. Shreddybed which has recently expanded to meet high product demand was delighted to find a local source of cardboard; Jon Rolls, Executive Director commented:
“Our environmental impact is very much at the heart of everything we do here at Shreddybed and so we were especially pleased to be able to source a waste cardboard producer on our doorstep. Our relationship not only aids the local economy but also our local environment.”
Mr Rolls went on to say:
“We are extremely pleased that D H Smith has achieved the recognition they deserve for their environmental efforts and congratulate them on the many awards they have received.”
Shreddybed has the capability of processing 5 tonnes of waste cardboard every day and by providing to a growing South West market of horse owners, poultry and game farms and other animal types they, in partnership with D H Smith are really demonstrating how it is possible to “close the loop”.
